Outside’s 2013 Best Places to Work

Why Europa Received Back-to-Back Awards for Best Place to Work

Apparently, loving what you do can be quantified. And it keeps adding up to Europa Sports. We’re proud to be named one of the “Best Places to Work,” by Outside magazine for the second year in a row. This 2013 study of the nation’s Top 100 employers reviewed everything from perks to work-life balance to our willingness to give back. Read on to learn how we measured up.

We’re most often recognized as the industry leader in the distribution of nutritional supplements, sports drinks and accessories-and we’re proud of that. But our greatest honor is getting to work with nearly 400 passionate employees, because without our team, nothing else is possible.

“I’m very proud of the company we’ve grown into over the last 23 years. We have assembled the best national team in the business,” said Eric Hillman. “Today, we’re at the top of our game, and we’re proud that the Best Places to Work study shows our team is consistently thriving in more ways than one.”

What makes working here so great?

The number one thing that makes working here so great is our people. Of course, we also have a 3,000 square-foot gym, endless hours of personalized training doled out by Chip Sigmon who is a former NBA strength and conditioning coach and current Europa fitness/wellness coordinator. There’s truly no place like Europa. But that’s not all. We’ve also been known to host friendly team competitions. We offer employee discounts on products and provide plenty of ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Here at Europa, we invest in the health of our employees-body and mind.

We’re proud of this honor to be named one of America’s best workplaces, because it reflects what we’re all about: the health and wellness of people. And not just our own. Beyond caring for our team, we also care about the community. That’s why we give our time and support to the Walk for Diabetes Awareness, Toys for Tots, and the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Why are awards so nice?

Awards are confirmation of hard work and dedication. They show recognition and respect. Helping our customers succeed is the best reward, but we love what we do—and it shows, day in and day out, year after year.
