Consistency is the Key

A few weeks ago the family and I took a trip out to Arizona. While traveling, we met a lady from California. During the course of our conversation, she shared that she was a schoolteacher with a full workload each and every day. I mentioned that I was a Wellness Coordinator and she excitedly told me that she had lost around 25 pounds. I was curious about how she achieved her weight loss combined with her heavy workload. How in the world did she find the time to exercise?

She told me that despite how busy she was, she always found 15 minutes each day to exercise. Whether it was 15 minutes on the treadmill, 15 minutes going out for a walk, or 15 minutes performing body weight exercises, she was consistent with her daily routine. To go along with her exercise program she watched what she ate and cut back on her sugars, breads and pasta.

It can be just that simple. It wasn’t a complex exercise program or a regimented nutritional menu she followed. The key to her success was being consistent with the TIME she had!

That same consistency can be used with your customers. Yes, always research the new products (like probiotics and pre-workout products which are hot right now) but ask your customers what they are consistently taking and using on a daily basis. I tell our employees here at Europa and the athletes that I work with that the foundation of a good supplementation program starts with a quality protein that has whey and casein, fish oil, and a solid multivitamin with minerals. From there, the customer is free to pick and choose what their needs are from the goals that they have set for themselves.

It’s up to you the retailer to educate yourself on what you’re selling. Our sales consultants at Europa are the ones that know their supplements from one end to the other and are consistent on what they take themselves.

So when it comes to success both in the weight room and from a supplementation standpoint, know the ins and outs of what you’re selling and consistency is the key to help you get there!
